Milwaukie Cafe is a collaboration between two long time Portland restaurant veterans, Chauncey Roach and Shea Pirtle. The two met over a decade ago while both working at Nostrana. Shea worked for the past 11 years at the classic Sellwood restaurant Gino's, doing almost every job imaginable there. Chauncey cooked at the Mingo restaurants followed by a short stint cooking in Italy and and Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham Alabama. For the last few years he has been bartending at some pretty rad bars like The Bit House Saloon and he started the short lived but cutting edge bar program at Racion. The pair will bring their knowledge to Milwaukie where they will prepare simple, delicious Italian inspired food while pouring Water Avenue coffee and espresso and selling affordable beers and wine both local and from top producers world wide.
